Septic systems designed to fit the land they sit on.

Great North Woods Septic Design is a family-run design and permitting practice working the soils, ledge, and slopes of New Hampshire's North Country — for new builds and for the tired systems they're replacing.

What we do

Site work, on paper before it's in the ground

Every design starts with the land — soils, slope, setbacks, and water — worked out before a permit is ever filed.

01

Septic Designs

Full system design for new construction or replacement, engineered to your lot's soils and layout.

02

Septic Evaluations

An honest read on an existing system's condition, capacity, and remaining life.

03

Site Assessment Studies

Perc tests, test pits, and site walks that show what a property can actually support.

04

Environmental Permitting

Applications and follow-through with the state so approvals move without stalling your build.

05

Video Inspections

Drain camera work to see inside pipe and tank when something isn't draining the way it should.

06

Tank Location Services

Finding a buried tank or leach field precisely, without digging up the whole yard to do it.

Not sure which of these you need? Tell us what's going on with the property — if it's not on this list, we may still be able to help.

About the practice

We're true NH natives, and it shows in how we design.

Great North Woods Septic Design is family owned and operated, working across the North Country the way neighbors do — punctually, and to a standard we'd want on our own land. We keep rates competitive and service personal, because most of the people who call us aren't repeat commercial clients; they're building the one house, or fixing the one system, that matters most to them.

We grew up here, and we design like it. Every layout is worked to sit into the landscape rather than flatten it — the goal is a system that disappears into the property, not one the property has to accommodate.

Where we work

Based in Stark, working the North Country

496 Northside Road · Stark, NH 03582

We're headquartered at the foot of the Percy Peaks, along the Ammonoosuc & Androscoggin watershed — rocky, uneven, and often waterlogged ground that doesn't forgive a lazy design. That's the terrain we design for every day, across Coös County and the wider North Country.

  • Ledge & shallow-soil lots
  • Seasonal camps & year-round homes
  • Steep or irregular sites
  • High water-table properties
